For those of you super unsure and in need of more details, here's a rough idea of how the day will go:
8 am: Women will weigh in starting at 8 am. They will have 2 hours to weigh in. The weight classes are listed below in kilograms and pounds. Once they weigh in, the women can start warming up because their lifting session will begin promptly at 10 am. During the weigh in, each female athlete will declare a starting snatch attempt and a starting clean and jerk attempt in kilograms.
10 am: The men will weigh in starting at 10 am. They will have 2 hours to weigh in. Their lifting session will begin at 12. They declare starting weights just like the women.
10 am: The women begin their snatch session. Women will be listed in order of their starting snatch weight. Each athlete will have 60 seconds to make their first snatch attempt (one attempt only!). If successful, they will declare their next weight. If they failed, they may decide to repeat that same weight for their next attempt. If they follow themselves (do 2 attempts in a row), they will have 2 minutes instead of 60 seconds for that second attempt. (Don't worry too much about the technicalities... there will be someone helping you out. This is a learning meet!) Each athlete gets 3 attempts. Once the women are finished with the snatch session, they will have 10 minute break before the clean and jerk session. That session is just like the snatch session.
12 pm: The men's session looks just like the women's session.
There will be a prize for the top male and female weightlifter, to be determined by the Sinclair coefficient.
